Make a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA

*If you are 73 years old or older, your QCD can count towards your required minimum distribution!

agsdi-hand-heart

Your QCD goes directly to Habitat, to help families build safe places to call home.

Did You Know?

You can continue partnering with us to provide decent and affordable housing after your lifetime. Simply name Habitat for Humanity as a beneficiary of your IRA account, and the remaining assets (or a portion of the account) will be used to help families build greater strength through stable housing.

Discover the Benefits of a Qualified Charitable Distribution

Reduce your taxable income

When you take funds from your IRA, they count as taxable income. But if you transfer them directly to a charity, you reduce your taxable income while satisfying your RMD.

An individual may take a one-time QCD up to $50,000 to fund a charitable gift annuity (CGA) or charitable remainder trust (CRT).

Fulfill your Required Minimum Distribution

After you turn 73, you must distribute funds from your IRA. If you do not distribute the required minimum, you may be penalized. But a QCD allows a transfer up to $100,000 per individual or $200,000 per couple to satisfy your RMD.

Help families in need build a better life

When you support Habitat with a gift from your IRA, you can make an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of the families we serve, who you empower with the safety and security of home.

“We have proudly supported Habitat for Humanity for many years, and have also included Habitat in our estate planning. In the meantime, making a direct gift from my IRA using the Qualified Charitable Deduction (QCD) reduces our taxable income, and allows us to provide more support to the mission of Habitat.”
